Admissions Process FAQWhat is the deadline to apply? Although Goddard has rolling admissions, we recommend that you apply at least a month before the Spring or Fall residency you want to attend, since the process of compiling all of the necessary materials can sometimes take longer than you expect. Also, space is limited on both our campuses. The deadline to apply is two weeks before the start of the residency. View Application Deadlines. Where do I mail my application materials? Applicants to both the Plainfield, VT and the Port Townsend, WA programs must mail all materials to: Admissions Office Goddard College 123 Pitkin Road Plainfield, VT 05667 Do my materials all have to arrive together? If your supporting materials arrive before your application, we will keep them safe until we receive your application. Can I email or fax my materials? A letter of recommendation may be faxed or emailed by the author. Fax to 802-454-1029, email to admissions@goddard.edu. Do I need official transcripts from every college or university I attended? Yes, please request official transcripts from each and every college or university you have attended, and have them sent directly to Goddard at the address above. Do I need to send my high school transcript? A high school transcript or proof of GED is required if you have completed less than 60 college credits, or less than an Associate’s degree. Who should I ask to write my letters of recommendation? What if I have been out of school for a long time? We understand that many of our applicants are contemplating returning to school after years of absence, and may find it difficult to contact a former professor. Please request letters from those who know you well, and can speak to your readiness to take on a program like Goddard’s. Colleagues and supervisors are excellent choices, as are business associates, or associates from community organizations. Is there a required format for the letters of recommendation? There is no form or format for the letters of recommendation. How do I apply for financial aid? Apply for financial aid by filling out the FAFSA form online. You will be asked to input Goddard’s code, which is 003686. For more information on financial aid, please contact the Financial Aid Office. When is the residency? To view a schedule of residencies, see the Academic Calendar. What do I do if I go by more than one name? Please list on your application all names under which your transcript or other materials might be sent. Do I need to visit campus and have an interview? Interviews are required for applicants to any of our undergraduate programs. Although you are welcome to schedule a visit to campus, it is not necessary to do so. Our applicants live all over the country and the world, and most conduct their interview over the phone. Can I speak with a member of the faculty? Just like Goddard’s students, Goddard’s faculty come to campus in Vermont only for the eight-day low residency at the beginning of each semester, and therefore do not keep regular office hours. You may address your questions to the director of your program of interest. Please request this contact information from the appropriate Admissions Counselor. Our Ambassador Page which lists the names and contact information for Goddard graduates who have agreed to speak with prospective applicants will be available in the near future. Can I defer my enrollment? If you are offered admission to Goddard, you may defer your enrollment twice, one semester at a time. If you defer twice and do not enroll, your application will be withdrawn, and you will need to reapply. Can I apply if I’m not a U.S. citizen? Yes. Please contact the Admissions Office for more information on international students at Goddard. When will I be notified of my admission decision? Once we have received your complete application, we will make a decision in one to two weeks, and notify you right away. You are welcome to call the Admissions Office at 1-800-906-8312 at any time to check on the status of your application.
